Job Details

We are seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Supervisor to lead commissioning and
installation activities at a mine site in Western Australia. This role requires strong leadership, technical
expertise, and a commitment to safety and project excellence.

Key Responsibilities

•     Oversee and supervise the commissioning and installation of electrical and
instrumentation systems.
•     Manage a team of technicians to ensure timely and high-quality completion of tasks.
•     Review and approve Inspection and Test Records (ITRs) and commissioning
documentation.
•     Coordinate with engineering, construction, and client teams to meet project milestones.
•     Ensure compliance with Australian standards (e.g., AS/NZS 3000, AS 2067) and site-
specific requirements.
•     Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to electrical, control, and
instrumentation systems.
•     Conduct risk assessments and implement safe work practices.
•     Monitor team performance and provide mentorship to improve skills and efficiency.
•     Prepare and submit progress reports, timesheets, and quality documentation.

Required Skills and Experience

•     Valid WA Electrical License (essential).

•     Significant experience in supervising electrical and instrumentation commissioning and
installation in mining or heavy industry.
•     Strong knowledge of HV/LV electrical systems, PLCs, SCADA, DCS, and control gear.
•     Proven ability to lead and manage a team in a fast-paced environment.
•     Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
•     Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs.
•     Strong understanding of ITR processes and completion requirements.
•     Familiarity with Australian safety standards, isolation procedures, and permit-to-work
systems.
•     Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Qualifications and Certifications

•     WA Electrical License (essential).
•     Current First Aid, CPR, and LVR certification (or willingness to obtain).
•     White Card and valid driver’s license.
•     Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screening.

Your Responsibilities:

Duties include but not limited to:

Administration and Support

  • Assisting Operations Director in daily tasks.
  • Accurate and efficient daily data entry of labour hours, equipment data using in-house systems as well as Client Systems.
  • Coordinate client timesheet submission, seek approval of timesheets.
  • Monitor and liaise with PMs to ensure invoicing meets monthly deadlines.
  • Assist workforce planning with ticketing and distribution of travel itineraries.
  • Maintain document register for key project and/or client specific documents, establish document management protocols for effective tracking and storage of project documents.
  • Providing administration support such as compiling, editing and formatting reports and tenders.
  • Organising and tracking team training and assisting with new employee inductions.
  • Liaising with the travel team to co-ordinate travel logistics and accommodation, assisting to prepare field packs.
  • Ad hoc administrative duties, as required.

Projects

  • Providing wide-range project and administrative support to the Operations and Projects Team.
  • Document control support.
  • Coordinating and administering meetings, including issuing of minutes.
  • Provide a high level of customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Develop, edit, and proofread project documentation and templates.
  • Other duties as required by the Project Managers.

Mobilisation

  • Assisting mobilisation requirements by working alongside the nominated Project Engineer or Project Manager.

Job Details

ICS Group Pty Ltd are seeking skilled HV Commissioning Engineers to lead and perform high-voltage testing and commissioning activities for primary and secondary equipment. There are currently 4 open positions of this role available. This role is critical for ensuring the safe and efficient energization of

electrical infrastructure across various projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct HV testing and commissioning for primary equipment up to 330kV, including transformers, circuit breakers, switchgear, and protection relays.
  • Lead secondary injection testing, including protection relay testing for transformer, line, generator, and motor protection.
  • Review and utilize design documents to validate protection schemes and coordinate integration.
  • Develop commissioning plans, sequences, and ITPs, ensuring project completion meets client expectations and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, providing technical guidance, risk assessments, and managing resources effectively.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of industry experience in testing and commissioning HV equipment.
  • Minimum 2 years of Supervisor or Lead Engineer/Engineering Technologist experience.
  • Prior experience on mine sites is preferred.
  • Proficiency in protection relay software and testing tools (Omicron, Doble, or similar).
  • Knowledge of IEC 61850 is advantageous.

This is a full-time role working 38 hours per week.
